The Fall of Rome

There are aspects of illegal immigration and the effect it has in our country that remind me of the Roman Empire before it fell. Roman citizens were so prosperous right before the end that a roman citizen rarely had to work. They had a permanent underclass of foreign non-Roman citizens that did "all the jobs that Romans wouldn't do". In fact a large percentage of the Roman Army was made up of these non-citizens who had no allegiance to Rome. When the Huns invaded, the underclass turned on the Romans and Rome fell.
Whenever a country lets foreigners in, even if they intend to work, the Country runs a huge risk of subversion. It must be clear when someone enters America that they are on our side. That's why a person must do all sorts of things to become a citizen: learn the language, be gainfully employed, learn the history, renounce all other allegiances...........etc. This is the only way to begin to ensure a stable culture.
Compare that with the stated goals of organizations like La Raza, who want to take back the South Western U.S. for Mexico through illegal immigration. If this bill passes this week, our nation will be in deep trouble.....AY CARAMBA!!!!

I was just wondering if you are saying that Christians should have had an allegiance to Rome?
Polycarp, Bishop of Smyrna at 83 years old refused to "HAIL CAESAR", and was burned alive. Burned, not stoned, but burned, because he said, "How can I HAIL CAESAR when my Lord Jesus has been so faithful to me all these years." He believed that being subversive was being faithful to Jesus. YOU CAN NOT HAIL CAESAR AND HAIL JESUS, (think about that word "HAIL"); that is Christendom and it domesticates Christianity. Also, why do you think that there will be more crime with immigration?
Sorry if this seems forward, but I have to say, I love the U.S., that is why I want the U.S., to be what God intended the government to be. Governments if instituted by God are called to reflect the nature and character of God himself. Jesus called the entire nation of Israel around himself, to truly fulfill her God given destiny, i.e.,vocation of mercy and forgiveness. It was always intended for "all people", but always ends up being a remnant of people, even today.
I think that there should be serious dialogue with why Mexican workers are flocking to this country? Why can't their economy sustain jobs or growth? I think we need those questions to be looked at desperately. So, I want you to know that I agree with addressing those issues. Maybe it is just the language of Nationalism that I don't like. But I also agree that in this country, English needs to be spoken, because Americans can't learn other languages, so therefore there needs to be assimilation.
Also, for discussion purposes, what do you think Jesus was saying when he said,"Whose IMAGE is on the denarius?...Pay to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's?
Thanks, talk soon.

Paul, I wasn't talking about what Christians should have done. I was just saying that the Romans made a huge miscalculation in trading cheap labor for the death of their empire.
The reason I know that crime will go up is because the amount of criminals in prison is disproportionately Latin American and disproportionately illegal aliens. Their criminals are fleeing prosecution to the U.S. You were in law enforcement, you know these things.
The reason Mexicans are especially crossing the border in such large numbers other than the geographic proximity, is because their unemployment rate is huge and their wages are small, and that's because all SOCIALISM creates win/lose scenarios and good CAPITALISM creates win/win scenarios.
They have tremendous natural resources in Mexico, and certainly a large willing workforce. They just lack the CAPITAL and investment structures that we have in the U.S. because their gov't is socialistic and corrupt. Therefore ideas don't convert into entrepreneurial enterprises as quickly or easily there. This keeps the low income people in the low income bracket, and the high income people in the high income bracket, and the government keeps the rest. It's corrupt big time.
As for the language of Nationalism, I'm not blind to America's faults. I just feel that I must defend the policies and procedures of America that are consistent with our Founding Principles. I think we lose our way when we veer from them.
I hear people criticize things that are good about America all the time. Things that are consistent with it's founding principles. Many of those types have lost the ability to distinguish right from wrong........ i.e. the professor Ward Chamberlain calling the victims of 911 "little Eichmanns".
America has an identity crisis because the public at large has no clue of our history or what our founding documents say or mean. The word Constitution means - what essentially makes us who we are. When we stop valuing those things we stop being that America, and we become something totally different.

Hi, this is Chellie, Paul B's wife. What the HAIL is this all about??? All I know is that my dad and I cry when we sing "I'm proud to be an American." Hey, if anyone has a right to live in America it's me... I'm descended from Pilgrims and Indians. All of ya'll need to get off my reservation!
Well, here's my point...when God talked about accepting the foreigners and aliens He said that they had to be circumcised and observe Torah. That was to preserve their national identity and values.
Thanks;)
